Last month the Durham Region real estate market had both its ups and downs. Here’s a recap of how the market fared throughout September 2018 with numbers put together by the Durham Region Association of Realtors.

 

New Listings Went Way Up

The Durham Region real estate market saw a whopping 1823 listings come up for sale. That’s almost a 25% jump in new listing compared to August with 1466 listings respectively. If you are a buyer, there’s a big inventory out there for you to choose from.

 

Number of Sales Sloped Slightly Downward

Sales dipped slightly throughout September 2018 with a decrease in transactions month-over-month from 843 in August to 773 in September.

 

Prices Are Up, And Down

In comparison to last month, prices are down slightly from $590,706 in August down to $587,009 this month. The good news is that prices are still up overall. At this time last year, the average home price in Durham Region was $578,666. That’s almost a 1% increase in a year-over-year contrast.
