Durham Region Real Estate Market Report For July 2020
Even though we’re at the mid-point of summer, it still feels like a hot spring market here in Durham Region. Listings are continuing to move rapidly, with a good amount of them being sold before they even hit Realtor.ca. While the middle of the summer is typically a more quiet time in the Durham Region real estate market, we’re seeing a year-over-year increase in new listings. This is largely due to the late start we had in the spring market due to COVID-19.
Overall, the lack of inventory is still playing a significant role in lifting average prices across the Region. Average pricing through Durham saw a jump of 17.3%, which equates to just under $105,000 if you prefer to look at it as a dollar value. This is a trend we’re monitoring closely as some experts are still predicting a drop in prices as the economic fallout from the pandemic progresses.
