Last month the Durham Region real estate market had both its ups and downs. Here’s a recap of how the market fared throughout February 2019 with numbers put together by the Toronto Real Estate Board
New Listings Still Declining
The Durham Region real estate market saw 1140 listings come up for sale. That’s almost a 3% decrease in new listing compared to last year with 1202 listings respectively. If you are a buyer, there’s a big inventory out there for you to choose from.
Number of Sales Sloped Slightly Downward
Sales dipped slightly throughout February 2018 with a decrease in transactions year-over-year from 604 last year to 585 this past month.
Prices Are Up, And Down
In comparison to last year, prices are down slightly from $591,404 last year down to $580,743 this February. The good news is that prices are going up in some areas. At this time last year, the average home price in Ajax was $644,411 and was $650,987 this past month. That’s just over a 1% increase in a year-over-year contrast.
